Treasured Keepsake

This is one of the absolutely awesome wired beads meticulously made by Perri (Skaktipaj). She sent it to me out of the blue, and it just blew me away.

The picture really doesn't do it justice - it is barely 1 inch long, and quite heavy for its size. The Olivine beads are 2mm Swarovski Crystals. I need to take additional pictures of it - (this is the picture from Perri's blog post) - but I haven't taken it off since I got it.

She writes that the challenge and "need" for her; is to create them so they are structurally sound and solid enough for others to enjoy - I can vouch for its structural integrity!! One of my babies - Mumble ( a Caique Parrot) got a hold of it briefly; she just loves shiny things - Despite the 'can opener' on her face, the bead suffered no ill effects!!! Amazing since I can't count the number of stones she's popped out of traditional ring settings.

I truly adore this bead - It is treasured almost as much as Perri's friendship......
